Commitment to quality and differentiation<\/h2>\n

The furniture industry has stabilised its progression of recent years after recovering from the significant impact caused by the financial crisis that began in 2007.\u00a0Companies in Castell\u00f3n still have a positive dynamic despite the tensions caused by inflation and the fluctuations of the economy, both at a national and international level. An example of their strength is the 4.6% increase in exports in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period last year, while in the rest of the Valencia Region and Spain as a whole, exports fell.<\/p>\n

This is the result of more than a decade of adjustment in a sector that has been able to adapt to the situation. Companies have downsized their business structures and strengthened their export departments, factors which have led to a significant improvement. In this regard, France, the United States, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Saudi Arabia are the main clients. Exports now account for more than 50% of sales. The commitment to product quality and differentiation has also come to the rescue of an industry that has seen its activity pick up in the last few years, cautiously building back muscle.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Castell\u00f3n furniture sector has adapted to the new economic reality and globalisation and has managed to overcome the financial crisis thanks, in part, to the manufacture of medium-high range, innovative products to the luxury furniture subsector, which is prestigious not only in Spain, but also abroad. In addition, the effect of the slump in domestic demand has been mitigated by the promotion of contract projects,<\/strong> which refers to customised designs for large clients, such as hotels, restaurants, offices, government buildings, or residential areas, among others. Design and quality are the flagship of the sector in the face of challenges from other countries in Asia and Europe that base their competition on price.<\/p>\n
